Pooh Corner

Established in 1978, Pooh Corner, for the last 45 years has dedicated itself to the wonderful world of Winnie the Pooh and its beloved creators, A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard. The building which is now known all over the world as Pooh Corner, was once the village sweet shop and the young Christopher Robin used to buy his sweets from the little shop here. Today we are a tearoom, gift shop and museum, with something for every Winnie the Pooh fan, both young and young at heart!

For the lucky winner of the prize, we are offering a traditional afternoon tea - a thoroughly British pastime, complete with homemade finger sandwiches, fresh scones and sweet treats. This will be followed by a VIP tour of our ‘Pooh-seum’! We will take you on a journey over 100 years telling the story of Winnie the Pooh from the 1920s to the present day.

Ashdown Forest
Ashdown Forest is famous as the magical landscape that inspired one of the world’s best loved children’s stories, the adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh. The iconic British character was created by A.A. Milne who lived on the edge of the Forest and conjured stories inspired by explorations with his young son, Christopher Robin. The illustrations by E.H. Shepard are as famous as the text and were created from landscapes and images on the Forest. The winner will visit the iconic locations on the original “Hundred aker wood” with a guide learning about the Forest then and now.
